New automotive rules and regulations rolling out in July, that you should know about.
There are some new rules and regulations coming in from this month, The Car Co has all the up-to-date information, read on to find out what these rules and regulations could mean for you.
EV Charging
From the 1st of July, a new energy cap (reduction of 7%) has been put in place, this means prices have been reduced for millions around the UK. For EV drivers who charge their vehicles, this also means reducing the cost of charging their car.
However, this is dependent on many factors for drivers with home charging stations, for example, the cars battery size, how many miles are driven, and whether the driver tops up at charging stations.
Car finance
This month, the Supreme Court are set to make a decision on the car finance controversies and the FCA will have 6 weeks to confirm plans of a “Redress Scheme” – a redress scheme would have lenders assessing whether customers have lost out in their finance deal and compensating them appropriately.
DVSA
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) say drivers have until July 23 to give their opinions on proposals being set out by the DVSA that address improving driving test booking rules.
These proposals aim to make the system fairer and stop people being charged excessive fees for booking tests as well as reducing waiting times for a test. Drivers can give their input until July 23rd 11:59PM.
The three potential booking driving test changes
The first potential change is only allowing learner drivers to book and manage their driving test bookings. The second option is to only allow learner drivers and instructors to book tests but only learners can make changes to the bookings. The third option would be to keep the current system that allows free reign.
